The influence of copper in light property

The products of light property are closely related to the prudence of the people's life, with a wide range of varieties. Because of its superior comprehensive properties, steel can be seen everywhere. For example:

_Air conditioners and refrigerators

Temperature sensitization of air conditioners and refrigerators is mainly accomplished by evaporation and condensation sensitization of copper tubes in heat exchangers. The size and heat transfer properties of heat exchange heat transfer tubes largely determine the effectiveness and miniaturization of all air conditioners and refrigeration devices. All the special-shaped copper tubes with high thermal conductivity are adopted in these machines. Applying the superior processing properties of steel, heat sinks with inner grooves and high fins have recently been developed and manufactured for heat exchangers in air conditioners, refrigerators, chemical industry and waste heat outlet collection devices. The total heat conductivity of the new heat exchangers can be improved to 2-3 times that of the common ones, and 1.2-1.3 times that of the low-finned ones. The new heat exchangers have been applied in China and can save 40% of copper. The volume of heat exchanger is reduced by more than 1/3.

Watch and clock

Today's clocks, timers and devices with clock mechanisms, most of which are made of "clock brass". The alloy contains 1.5-2% lead, which has excellent processing properties and is suitable for large-scale production. For example, gears are cut out of long extruded brass bars, flat wheels are washed out of strips responding to thickness, and brass or other copper alloys are used to make brass or other brass alloy brackets outside bells and screw and discussion, etc. Large quantities of cheap watches are made of gun copper (tin-zinc bronze) or plated with nickel-silver (white copper). Some famous bells are made of steel and copper alloy. Britain's Big Ben uses solid gun copper rods for the hour hand and 14-foot copper tubes for the minute hand.

A contemporary watchmaker can produce 10,000 to 30,000 watches per day, with copper alloy as the important material, with press and accurate die processing. The cost is very low.

Paper making

In a society with ever-changing information in the future, paper costs a lot. Outside the paper looks frugal, but the paper-making process is very complicated. It is necessary to go through many steps and apply a lot of machinery, including coolers, evaporators, beaters, paper machines and so on. Many of these components, such as heat exchanger tubes, rollers, attacking rods, semi-liquid pumps and wire meshes, are mostly made of steel alloys.

For example, the long-net paper machine adopted today sprays pulp onto fast-moving meshes (40-60 meshes) with tiny meshes. The mesh is woven of brass and phosphorus bronze wire. It's wide, usually more than 20 feet (6 meters), and requests to be completely straight. The mesh moves on a series of small brass or copper rollers, and when the pulp sprayed on it passes through the process, moisture is sucked in from above. The net vibrates at the same time to bond the small fibers in the pulp. Large paper machines have large mesh sizes that can be 26 feet 8 inches wide (8.1 meters) and 100 feet long (30.5 meters). Wet pulp not only contains water, but also contains chemicals used in papermaking process, which is highly corrosive. In order to guarantee the quality of paper, the requirement for distribution data is very strict, not only with high strength and elasticity, but also with pulp corrosion resistance, copper alloy integrity may be competent.

Printing

Copper plate is used to stop photographing and plate making in printing. The polished copper plate outside is sensitized with a photosensitive latex and photographed on it. The photosensitive copper plate needs to be heated to harden the glue. In order to avoid heat hardening, copper usually contains a large amount of silver or arsenic to improve the hardening temperature. Later, the plate ceased to corrode, and the body was scattered with high and low dot graphics outside the printing.

In an active typesetter, a process of brass block layout is required to produce a typesetting, which is another important use of copper in printing. Lead-containing brass is commonly used in font blocks, and occasionally copper or bronze is also used.

Wine making

Copper plays an important role in beer brewing. The village where copper is rarely used as malt barrel and fermenter. In some well-known breweries, there are more than ten such barrels with capacity over 20,000 gallons. In the fermentation tank, steel pipe is rarely used for cooling. It also stops heating when brewing beer with water vapor through steel pipe, and transports liquor with steel pipe.

When distilling whiskey and other spirits, steel distillation pots are rarely used. Whisky malt liquor needs to be distilled twice, using two large copper distillation pots.

Medicine

In pharmaceutical products, all kinds of steaming, boiling and vacuum devices are made of pure copper. Zinc white copper is widely used in medical instruments. Copper alloy is still a rare material for spectacle frames and so on.
